Re: Life Threatening Illnesses or situations
Hi everyone,
I am depressed because I have so many health issues / problems. Last week I had my first seizure while driving and ran into the back of another car. I was taken to the emergency room and after many xrays, CT scans and blood work I was sent home. My back was hurting and each day the pain became worse and excruciating. Any time I tried to sit, stand or walk the pain was so severe I would scream in pain. After another emergency room visit to a different hospital and a MRI of my back I was told I have 2 compression fractures of my upper lumbar vertebrae and my lower thoracic vertebrae. That night I was admitted to the hospital and seen by a neurosurgeon. He fit me for a brace.
This week I was supposed to be seen by a nephrologist because I was recently told my blood work shows I have stage 3 chronic kidney disease. Due to my back injury and pain I was forced to cancel and reschedule my appointment. I am also waiting to be seen by a neurologist and to get a EEG to look into why I had the seizure.
In February I had emergency surgery for a small bowel obstruction. I also suffer from depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, cataracts, urinary incontinence, GERD, and chronic MRSA infections. A few years ago I was attacked and bitten by a bobcat that tested positive for rabies.
When will it ever end ? I am so over this adventure. I feel alone and depressed. I'm on enough medications to kill a horse. My anxiety is out of control. My depression is getting worse and worse. Please help me !!
I feel like my list of medical problems continues to grow and its very depressing.

Hello Dianna,
Welcome to our forum.
I am so sorry to hear that you are going through so much all at once. I have noticed that everything bad always comes at once, I know this from my own experiences.
Do you have a supportive family and friends?
You're only human and all these different events are bound to effect you mentally. You're body is under a lot of stress at the minute so there is no surprise that you are feeling so low.
Like you I have Kidney Disease my I reached renal failure in May. My whole life got flipped upside down and now I am tied to dialysis and the only way I can think positively about is, is the fact its keeping me alive.
I know how struggling life can be so I can completely sympathise with you. I hope you get some happy news soon.
